New PS3 COD4 patch
You may have noticed today when you went to turn on your favourite first person shooter that you had to download an update before playing it. Yes its a pain in the backside but it needs to be done, i just wish they would give you some notice so that i can get the update at non-peak traffic times, as it happened i turned on COD4 (at a peak traffic time) looking forward to a game, only to have to wait 10 minutes for the damn thing to download and install.
Well the PS3 update is V1.2 and is about 12mb in size and would take that long to download during the day, might take a bit longer during peak times but no more than 10 mins. The update includes the following;
New Kill cams for RPG’s, grenades, claymores, airstrikes, and more.
a quick Mute option to allow users to mute those annoying players who whistle or idiots playing music in the background while you are trying to concentrate this is achieved by pressing X on their user ID in the lobby
an addition of “Recently Met Players” for the PlayStation Network
Optimized servers, hope this helps with the old "host ended the game problem"
Improvements to the Sniper Rifles and Acog attachments which should mean no more delayed shots
